Serendipity3 Debuts Green Frozen Hot Chocolate In Honor Of Wicked’s 20th Year On Broadway

Food & Drink

The wickedest witch there ever was is now influencing a classic New York City menu.

To celebrate Wicked’s twentieth anniversary on Broadway, Serendipity3 is launching limited-edition dessert as verdant as the musical’s protagonist. Throughout October, the Wicked Emerald City Frrrozen Hot Mint Chocolate inspired by Elphaba’s green hue with a bit of pink Glinda sparkle will be on the daily menu.

The special treat is made with Mint Frrrozen White Chocolate, which has been dyed bright green ala Emerald City. The dessert is topped with a gravity defying mountain of whipped cream, shimmering with pink sugar and edible glitter. A Wicked 20th Anniversary edible frosting sheet sits on top of the creation, for photo opps and an extra level of Broadway drama. To complete the dessert, a Wicked themed stirrer can also be kept as a souvenir. Wicked is now the fourth-longest musical to ever run on Broadway.

“Serendipity3 has always been and will always be the go-to destination for Broadway lovers to get a pre-show or post-show meal,” says Chef Joe Calderone, Creative Director at Serendipity3. “We are big fans of Wicked at Serendipity3 and it has been such a dream to collaborate with this incredible show whose songs and characters have stolen so many people’s hearts throughout its 20 years on Broadway. This dessert is one you will not want to miss.”

In its past 69 years of business, Serendipity3 has served nearly 30 million of its signature menu item, known for blending 14 exotic cocoas. The Wicked Emerald City Frrrozen Hot Mint Chocolate will retail for $20.95 through Halloween, October 31.

Serendipity3 is located at 225 E 60th Street and open daily from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
