How To Indulge In A $30k Scotch Whisky Weekend In Dallas With Glenfiddich

Food & Drink

Monarch, a modern Italian restaurant located on the 49th floor of The National in downtown Dallas, has become synonymous with luxury since it opened a year and a half ago.

This weekend, the restaurant helmed by Michelin star chef Danny Grant and known for its soaring views of the city, is kicking it up a notch with a $30,000 per person Scotch whisky tasting weekend with Glenfiddich to celebrate the brand’s Time Re:Imagined Collection, an extremely rare and ultra premium expression of its offerings.

Launched in September 2022, the exclusive collection includes Glenfiddich’s 30-Year-Old ($1,299), 40-Year-Old ($4,600) and 50-Year-Old ($50,000 and 1 of 7 bottles released to the US.) Guests will also taste Glenfiddich’s incredible Grande Couronne and Grand Cru expressions, which are part of its Grand Series, aged at 26 years and 23 years, respectively.

Each expression, alongside artistically developed outer packaging, celebrates moments of time relative to their production. The 50-Year-Old portrays Simultaneous Time, exploring the parallel and complex conditions that have influenced the liquid. Glenfiddich’s 40-Year-Old represents Cumulative Time, drawing attention to the layers of accumulated flavor, made possible via the remnant vatting process, first pioneered by the brand. The 30-Year-Old embodies Suspended Time, representing the moment when the Malt Master suspends the development of the whisky, showcasing the purest expression of the distiller’s character.

Scotch lovers will begin the weekend by checking in for a three-night stay at the Thompson Dallas Hotel. On Friday, December 9, guests will enjoy a 12-course omakase dinner from Grant’s sushi lounge, Kessaku. The private dinner will feature specialty cocktail pairings with each course and will take place in one of the luxurious Thompson Dallas penthouses.

On Saturday, ticket holders will get a private tour of Thompson Dallas multi-million dollar art collection and a spa day at the Thompson Spa before an indulgent seven-course tasting menu in Monarch’s private Grand Ballroom. This dinner will feature one of the only opportunities to taste Glenfiddich’s first-ever ultra-premium collection in one sitting.

And no fall weekend in North Texas is complete without a Dallas Cowboys game, so an all-inclusive ticket to a suite for the Dallas Cowboys vs Houston Texans game at AT&T Stadium is also part of this over-the-top weekend. Everyone will also take home one bottle of Glenfiddich’s 40-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky, and of course, a set of personalized Baccarat crystal glassware to enjoy these one-of-a-kind Glenfiddich expressions.

A $5,000 per person ticket is available for those who want an amended version of the weekend, but it doesn’t include Glenfiddich’s 40-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky or the Dallas Cowboys Game.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Alzheimer’s Association. Reservations can be made by emailing GlenfiddichVIP@monarchrestaurants.com
