CAULIPOWER’s Gail Becker Has Set Out To Fix Frozen Meals With Healthy One-Pan Wonders

Food & Drink

Creator of the leading cauliflower crust pizza brand in the U.S., CAULIPOWER, has officially launched its latest culinary innovation: one-pan multi-serve frozen meals. From Cauliflower Gnocchi with Savory Pesto, to Spinach Gnocchi with Tuscan-Style Marinara, and Cauliflower Penne Pomodoro, each meal is made in Italy with premium quality ingredients. According to the company’s founder and CEO, Gail Becker, the new frozen meal line, known as “one-pan wonders,” can be cooked in under ten minutes and each dish is under 300 calories per serving with two-three servings per pan.

The expansion into the $1 billion multi-serve frozen meal category, marks CAULIPOWERS entry into their eighth category in five years. The company shared that each new meal brings a delicious, flavorful alternative that is nutrient-dense and vegetable-rich, which has been desperately needed in this space and desired by customers. “The frozen meal category is huge, and ripe for disruption, so consumers can definitely expect more from us in that space,” Becker said. “At CAULIPOWER, we make better-for-you versions of your favorite comfort foods… and we are just getting started!”

Like the rest of the brand’s offerings, the meals are gluten-free and free from artificial ingredients, colors, and preservatives. The new line provides a much-needed alternative to the frozen meals currently on the market which are sodium-packed, calorie-laden, and lacking in vegetable servings. “Most options on the market are traditionally packed with calories, sodium, gluten, and lacking in servings of vegetables,” Becker shared. “That’s why we made sure that our frozen meals provide those veggies that consumers are craving, without other fillers. Putting it simply, our new frozen meals are more delicious, nutritious and convenient – ready in minutes requiring zero prep and only one pan.”

As life continues to get busy for individuals and families, the multi-serve meal category has seen a surge in growth from consumers, particularly those who want convenient and healthy meal ideas. According to a Mintel report, 72% of category consumers said that they are looking for products offering more fruit and vegetable servings. The report also found that 64% of consumers choose frozen meals because it’s convenient and quicker than preparing a meal from scratch.

“CAULIPOWER was born to give people what they want…even if it doesn’t currently exist,” Becker shared. “If you choose CAULIPOWER, you can trust that we have made the product veggie-forward, that we have taken out the additives and gluten, and that we have reduced the salt, calories, and sugar – all without sacrificing taste.”

The new frozen meals follow the company’s expansion to offer pastas and its breakfast scrambles, both released last year. You can find CAULIPOWER’s new one-pan dishes in the frozen section at Walmart, select Albertsons and Safeway stores, Hy-Vee, ShopRite in January, and additional stores will carry the new products in 2023.
