It has nine main bedrooms and a guest house decorated in a traditional Ibizan style; an open, communal dining area with reclaimed wood furniture; and a luxurious pool that overlooks acres of terraced farmland. Ca Na Xica is a gorgeous, secluded retreat in the heart of the Ibizan countryside, surrounded by terracotta-clay surroundings, distinctive long grasses, cacti, olive and almond trees, and a lemon and orange orchard. The T-shaped seawater pool is the centrepiece of the hotel, which began as just six rooms in the main house (it now has 20), built in the style of a Spanish finca. The part open-air, glass walled restaurant is also a particular feature, where dishes such as langoustine with mango chutney, Josper-cooked, Ibiza-style marinated chicken and tuna tartar with mango and avocado are pricey but delicious. Romantic Cas Gasi, near the village of Santa Gertrudis, a favourite of artists, was originally built towards the end of the 19th century. The farmhouse and adjacent buildings have been lovingly restored by live-in husband and wife team who have filled communal areas with charming mismatched furniture, paintings by local Ibicenco painters, chandeliers and antiques to complement beamed ceilings and a flickering log fire. There are 10 rooms and two suites in total; some are in the main finca and have a balcony or hot tub, while others are in separate buildings and boast more space and superb light come sunset. Orange and olive trees dot this Puig d’en Valls gem which blends into the Ibizan countryside with its Bedouin tent-covered outdoor lounge, sprawling grounds, mix of light stone and time-washed terracotta and curved, sculptural accents.
