The best hotels and chalets in Saalbach, including five-star spas and chic rooms

Advice

Both Saalbach and Hinterglemm have lots of mainly three- and four-star hotels to choose from, along with simpler pensions. It’s best to go for one in the centre of one of the villages, close to the main lifts that access either the north-facing or sunnier south side of the valley – some of the accommodation options are inconveniently situated along the road between Saalbach and Hinterglemm.

Bergers Sporthotel

On Saalbach’s main street, Bergers Sporthotel is within an easy walk of lifts heading up either side of the valley. It’s an eclectic four-star that combines traditional and modern in a quirky way – think traditional Alpine décor next to a zebra‑print sofa illuminated by crystal chandeliers. There’s an indoor pool with underwater music and bubble jets, and a sauna and steam room. As well as a lively après bar there’s a basement nightclub.
