Day 20: Flying from Stockholm to Barcelona on Lufthansa. We woke up early in the morning and headed to the Stockholm airport, and flew with Lufthansa to Barcelona. It was a long day of flying, and after arriving to Barcelona and checking into our hotel I had my first taste of tapas.

00:54 Bus to airport – 119 SEK ($13.86) per person and Stockholm Arlanda Airport – We caught the bus from our hotel area in Stockholm to the airport. At the airport, after checking into our flight with Lufthansa, we had a quick breakfast as the lounge and continued onto our flight.

3:22 Star Alliance Flight #6 Lufthansa: Stockholm to Barcelona – We actually had two legs to our flights, first was from Stockholm to Frankfurt and then from Frankfurt to Barcelona. It was a business class flight, but on the shorter business class flights, they aren’t really much different from economy class from what I found. Overall, good flights with Lufthansa.

6:51 Arriving to Barcelona – Airport Metro ride – 4.50 EUR ($5.05) per person. After landing in Barcelona and passing through customs, we bought our tickets for the metro and headed to Passeig de Gràcia, which is one of the central areas of Barcelona and where our hotel was located.

8:16 Cotton House Hotel, Autograph Collection – After emerging from the metro into the center of Barcelona it was just a short walk to get to our hotel from Passeig de Gràcia metro station. We checked into the Cotton House Hotel, which is a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. It’s a very nice boutique and classic heritage hotel in Barcelona.

10:49 Tapas at Ciudad Condal – To be honest, both Ying and I were pretty tired when we arrived to Barcelona and after checking into the hotel and relaxing for a while, we were hungry but didn’t want to go far to eat dinner, and additionally, many dinner restaurants in Barcelona don’t open until 8 or 9 pm. So we decided to have some tapas as our dinner, and luckily there was a tapas restaurants just a very short walk from our hotel. The tapas at Ciudad Condal were pretty good and I especially enjoyed the octopus with potato and the fried mini string potatoes with egg.

It was another great day, but a pretty tiring day on our round the world trip. But stay tuned for some serious food and attraction videos in Barcelona!
