It’s a chance to wrap up warm, pig out on burnt sausages and toffee apples, and brave a fairground ride or two. Bonfire Night isn’t just about the fireworks – in Ottery St Mary, Devon, for example, there’s an annual tradition of carrying flaming tar barrels through the town. But there are, of course, also some spectacular pyrotechnic displays to be seen.

Here, we’ve rounded up the best bonfire night events taking place around the UK for 2019. Mostly we’ve stuck to the official date, November 5, but have included some weekend displays.
