KFC Debuts Plant-Based Chicken Nuggets. Cars Are Double-Looped Around The Building.

KFC debuted its plant-based chicken–Beyond Fried Chicken–at a single Atlanta restaurant today. The product, which was developed in partnership with Beyond Meat, is being served as nuggets and boneless wings. 

This is a test for KFC to determine if they should expand distribution as part of a broader initiative. Based on the response today, I’d say it’s likely we can expect to hear about plans to expand this partnership. See below for some very compelling imagery from customers in Atlanta today:

Reports from Twitter say the line of cars was double-looped around the parking lot before it even opened, despite the rain. Video shows a line of cars stretched to the horizon waiting to get a taste of the Beyond Meat based products.

Gee, you’d think they were selling Rihanna tickets inside. Plant-based consumers are becoming the cool kids, who’d’ve thought!
