Interrail and Eurail passes will no longer be valid across Britain from January 1 2020 – an end to the network’s decades-old participation in the European rail schemes.
The Rail Delivery Group (RDG), which represents Britain’s passenger and freight railways, announced that Eurail had made the decision to end Britain’s membership.
However, Robert Nisbet – Regional Director of RDG – said that Britain’s rail companies “want[ed] to remain part of the group”.
He also emphasised that the move is not Brexit-related.
“This is not linked to our membership of the EU,” he said on Twitter.
Travellers who buy a Eurail or Interrail Global Pass in 2020 will no longer be able to use it in Britain – though…
