It’s Thanksgiving week! Maybe you procrastinated. Maybe you’re having second thoughts about your original holiday plans. Don’t stress — you have options. Plenty of excellent New York City restaurants still have tables available on Thursday, November 28, whether you’re eager to have a luxe and traditional feast or skip out on tradition and indulge in omakase. Because let’s face it, restaurant Thanksgiving is the best Thanksgiving. And if all else fails, at least there are still plenty of special holiday takeout options across the city.
Café Carmellini
The luxe Italian restaurant by chef Andrew Carmellini is hosting Thanksgiving from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. for $155 per person. Guests in the luxurious Gramercy dining room can choose from an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a festive cart, plus add on extras like drinks and truffles. Menu options include Jerusalem artichoke zuppa, bluefin tuna crudo, tortellini ala bolognese, heritage turkey with traditional sides and much more.
Bar Primi Penn District
Another beloved Italian restaurant from Andrew Carmellini is offering special Thanksgiving items and its regular a la carte menu. Brave the chaos one block from the Thanksgiving parade route, to enjoy Thanksgiving Turkey with accompaniments like stuffing, yukon gold mashed potatoes, fall squash with sage, and brussel sprouts, available alongside signature dishes such as AC Antipasti Salad; Meatballs in Sugo; Pappardelle with ragu bolognese; Vesuvio Scampi with spicy rock shrimp, Hot Knots with Italian Chili Crisp, Burrata Pockets with Calabrian honey, as well as other Primi favorites.
Grand Brasserie
Meet up with friends and family in the heart of Grand Central Terminal, where the new French brasserie, Grand Brasserie, will be offering a three-course Thanksgiving Pre-Fixe menu alongside their regular menu. The $125 Thanksgiving menu includes dishes like Truffle Mushroom Soup, Roasted Turkey leg Ballotine with potato gratin, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy, Apple Tarte Tartin, and more.
Cecchi’s
Head to a historic and recently renovated downtown locale for a four-course Thanksgiving feast priced at $165 per person. The menu starts with the choice of winter squash soup or salad, and main course options include roasted turkey with stuffing and gravy or prime rib with shareable like mac and chese and mashed sweet potatoes. A kids menu is also available for $50. Reservations are open from 2 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.
Motel Morris
This Thanksgiving, Motel Morris in Chelsea is offering a special Thanksgiving menu for $85 per person, with an additional $55 wine pairing available. The menu includes Marinated Olives and Ricotta with Herb Oil Toast to share, followed by your choice of Winter Squash Soup, Roasted Beet Salad, or Fluke Tartare with Apples and Shiso for starters. For the main course, choose from Farro Verde with Roasted Squash and Herbs, Seared Black Sea Bass, or a Turkey Plate featuring sliced breast, crispy thigh, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and gravy. To finish, enjoy Arlene’s Pecan Pie, a family recipe from owners Brett & Sam’s mother or the option of Apple, Pear, and Berry Fruit Crisp for dessert.
