The best boutique hotels in Seville

Advice

All hotels have been independently reviewed and selected. We will earn a commission if you book via the links below, but this never affects our rating.

Neo-Moorish arches, Triana tiles, arcaded patios and Islamic design motifs – Seville’s boutique hotels are a delicious microcosm of the city’s finest palaces. These hotels reflect their locations, from the boho Alameda to picturesque Barrio Santa Cruz with its orange tree-lined squares, where colourful tiled benches proffer a seat. Contemporary styling, such as bold geometric prints, adds modern flair to some establishments, but always centred on Sevillano charm.

A roof terrace, often with a bar and sometimes a swimming pool, is the place to be on a sultry summer’s evening, but you can take in the views at any time. Bursting with individual character, these hotels offer a memorable experience of Andalucian style and hospitality, each with its own decorative mood and attention to detail. Here’s our pick of the best boutique hotels in Seville.

How we review

Hotel Casa 1800

Seville, Andalucia, Spain

9
Telegraph expert rating

This converted mansion on the edge of the Jewish quarter emanates a luxe-historic feel with its combination of original floor tiles and exposed brick, chandeliers and other opulent touches like gold headboards. Beyond the traditional sandy yellow and terracotta façade, 33 elegantly decorated rooms – of which six have their own private terrace and hot tub – surround two patios that are adorned with trailing foliage and painted murals. A highlight of the hotel, in the summer months in particular, is the hotel’s rooftop terrace, which commands 360-degree views over the city and also features a swimming pool.

Legado Alcázar

Seville, Andalucia, Spain

8
Telegraph expert rating

Built into the Alcazar’s walls, this 17th century mansion turned boutique hotel overlooks the palace’s lush gardens. Here, historic details, like the original ceramic tiling and an Arabic well, meet contemporary design additions, including contemporary artworks, and modern conveniences. Just 18 individually styled rooms span three floors of the hotel. Half of these rooms look onto the palace gardens and the best of these retreats come with a terrace or balcony. Breakfast is served on the patio or a café-style space, which doubles as a wine bar, looking onto the street.

Hotel Sacristía de Santa Ana

Seville, Andalucia, Spain

8
Telegraph expert rating

Opulence and character fills each corner of this family-owned hotel, which takes over an 18th-century mansion. A traditional arcade patio provides a tranquil retreat at the heart of the property, despite its setting amid the cafes, restaurants and bars on Alameda de Hercules. In this urban sanctuary, rooms named after mythological figures (in reference to the classical statues nearby) feature a combination of antique and modern furnishings, along with distinct features like hand-painted headboards, while communal areas stand out for their artisanal design touches. Each morning of a stay here, guests can tuck into a suitably Andalucian buffet breakfast.

Telegraph expert rating

Casa de Colón places you right at the centre of everything, with the cathedral just a short walk in one direction and the city’s main public square, Plaza San Francisco, in the other. Restaurants and shops are all within easy reach. Within this location, the family-owned 18th-century conversion further sets itself apart with interiors bringing together exposed brickwork, zingy colours, African prints and repurposed furnishings. A patio distinguished by its cast iron pillars and cobalt-blue Neo-Mudéjar scalloped windows leads to the hotel’s 17 rooms, some of which have street-facing balconies, and it’s all topped with a roof terrace providing impressive cathedral views.

Triana House

Seville, Andalucia, Spain

8
Telegraph expert rating

Expect a more Art Deco vibe at the trendy yet down-to-earth Triana House hotel. Bold geometric black-and-white tiling meet rich shades of burnt orange, red and blue in the six design-led rooms, which are each named after the city (such as Napoli and Londres) reflected in their artwork. Breakfast is served to the room, including Andalucian options, and if you’re in the Beijing room you can eat outside on your terrace. This late 18th-century house is found on a quiet residential street, close to the action of the Triana neighbourhood and within a short walk of the waterfront restaurants and bars.
