Food & Drink

A Manhattan icon is back in business. Following the Central Park Boathouse’s lakeside cafe reopening last June, the boathouse restaurant itself reopened for lunch and dinner on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Situated in the boathouse dating back to 1954, the renovated restaurant now boasts Central Park Continental cuisine by Legends Hospitality Group.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Central Park Boathouse’s kitchen is now run by Executive Chef Adam Fiscus along with consulting Chef Dave Pasternack. Each meal starts with a complimentary relish tray. Starters include options like stuffed mushrooms with crushed Ritz crackers ($20), baked Oysters Rockefeller ($28), plus an extensive raw bar offering local East Coast oysters ($24); and Pasternack’s signature Hidden Fjord salmon crudo ($22). Heartier options include pastas like spaghetti with lobster ($48) and ricotta ravioli with spring vegetables and sorrel ($26).

Exclusively for lunch, diners can enjoy fish and chips with tartar sauce ($32). And for dinner, a Prime Rib of Beef with fresh horseradish and Yorkshire pudding ($64).

A kids menu, brunch menu and full bar menu is also available.

The Boathouse’s all-day café is still open everyday from 8am-5pm, offering casual meals packaged to-go to enjoy on the 80 seat alfresco patio or the new indoor café space, which includes a Fireside Room and courtyard, a particualrly popular spot for birdwatchers.

Still, there’s more of the project t0 be revealed in the warmer months. The Boathouse’s Dockside Dining, which is currently closed for the season, anticipates reopening with a fresh new look and menu later in the year.
