Ibiza Gran Hotel

Ibiza is back and beckoning travelers this summer with dishes made from a pair of culinary superstars. Ibiza Gran Hotel continues to spearhead the island’s epicurean revival this summer with the launch of two new restaurants, Zuma and ASAL, and a vibrant new late-night venue, Club Chinois, from the team at the world-famous Park Chinois. Featuring international culinary superstars, Rainer Becker and Chef Mario Sandoval, the two new restaurants join the hotel’s exclusive Michelin star restaurant, La Gaia by O´scar Molina.

Zuma, part of Island Hospitality, will be in residence for one year only to bring its award-winning contemporary Japanese cuisine and signature informal izakaya dining concept to the white isle. Situated on sun-drenched terrace of the 189-suite Ibiza Gran Hotel, the restaurant will deliver the island’s best panoramic views over the island’s finest marina and iconic Old Town. The menu will comprise signature favorites, such as Spicy Beef Tenderloin with Sesame; Black Cod marinated in Miso; Tiger Prawns with Yuzu; and Grilled Seabass with Chilli and Ginger, all crafted with the highest-quality ingredients. Cocktails will include contemporary classics and premium sakes designed to complement the Japanese flavors on the menu. Guests can enjoy the famed red sunsets and dancing throughout the night at the dedicated drinks space with its own resident DJ.

“We are delighted to bring Zuma to Ibiza for the first time. This year’s pop-up is incredibly exciting for us all,” said Rainer Becker, creator and co-founder, Zuma. “We are proud to be located at Ibiza Gran Hotel as we share the same values of unquestionable quality and attention to detail.”

ASAL, designed by renowned architect and interior designer, David Alayeto, is a new gastronomic temple framed by natural light and organic materials. Diners will step inside a white cave greeted by Gaudian shapes that resemble the neighboring reef. ASAL will consist of three main areas, the Garden Terrace for Alfresco dining, Chefs Saloon for inside dining and the DJ Lounge & cocktail bar for relaxing.

Chef Mario Sandoval will bring his intuitive knowledge of Spanish flavors and devotion to local produce to the table at ASAL. Diners will look out over the Pitiusan panorama as they are taken on a journey through the island by this celebrated chef whose career holds two Michelin stars, a Michelin green star and Tres Soles Repsol.

Newly launched this summer, Club Chinois offers late night entertainment for island guests. For the first time, Island Hospitality, the team behind London’s Park Chinois, has recreated their signature grand Asian flair on the white isle. Inspired by the decadent yet iniquitous jazz clubs of 1930s Shanghai, the new venue delivers old-world hospitality and world-class contemporary entertainment. Bold interiors by award-winning Parisian Design Studio, Laleh Assefi, deliver Chinoiserie elegance that echo’s an era of grace and bygone charm. Rich, indulgent details and a deep vibrant palette will deliver a sensorial feast with a hint of wit and playfulness in homage to Ibiza’s famed hedonistic heritage. Club Chinois houses international talent ranging from acclaimed resident DJs to super-star headline performers and artists providing an immersive experience for revelers of the highest quality.

“Our passion is to create experiences beyond hospitality. We strive to create emotions where our clients are at the center of our journey,” says Jose Corraliza, chief operating officer, Island Hospitality.

“We know our guests at Ibiza Gran Hotel have a discerning palette and exquisite tastes” said Rau´l Sierra, General Manager, Ibiza Gran Hotel. “Our beloved La Gaia has long been at the heart of the hotel, and we are delighted to expand our offerings with three exciting new international names this summer.”

Ibiza Gran Hotel’s flagship restaurant, La Gaia, will further lead the island’s epicurean revival this summer with the launch of its gastronomy series in celebration of Executive Chef O´scar Molina’s first Michelin star. Ibiza Gran Hotel is the first and only hotel on the island to achieve such an accolade.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with international chefs who share our passion for local, authentic flavors with the launch of the first Zuma in Ibiza and ASAL,” said O´scar Molina, executive chef, Ibiza Gran Hotel. “Food is universal and designed to be shared and this is particularly evident here in the Mediterranean. We will continue to develop and design creative menus in collaboration with the finest, most innovative producers so we can further surprise and delight our fellow gourmands.”

La Gaia imparts authentic Mediterranean flavor to every dish, with the finest, local ingredients playing the starring role. Two tasting menus, Tanit and Posidonia, surprise both newcomers and regular guests. The 14-course Posidonia includes a three-dish series that honors the island’s traditional matanc¸es festival, in which every part of the family pig is turned into a lavish feast. Dishes such as fried wholewheat bread with salty bone broth emulsion, and suckling pig with pumpkin and courgette flower promise an evening to delight and surprise.
