In January 2021 over half a million people said they’d go vegan for a month, according to the official Veganuary organisation and it looks like that number will be higher for 2022. So, it’s no surprise that the range of vegan products continues to expand, with new launches every month. Here is a top selection of new plant-based foods and drinks that are worth adding to your vegan diet this month and beyond.
1.Borna Foods pistachio mylks and butters
British company Borna Foods’ delicious pistachio, almond and cashew products have won numerous Great Taste Awards. Their range of fresh flavors includes premium nuts, artisan butters and nutritious milk-alternative drinks. Their range of nut butters has been expanding and now includes tasty new options like Cherry Almond Butter and Strawberry Pistachio Butter.
2.Nut Blend butters
Nut Blend is another premium healthy nut butter brand. Created by London-based entrepreneur Gabriella Block, who aimed to create indulgent products without relying on sugar, there are four flavors. Each has no added sugar or sweeteners, no palm oil and no added salt. Nut Blend’s unique nut butters contain just nuts and a pinch of natural spices. The range includes: Cacao, Cashew & Almond Butter, Maca, Pecan & Almond Butter, Coconut, Macadamia & Almond Butter and Cinnamon, Hazelnut & Almond Butter.
3.Deliciously Ella soups and sauces
One of the best known plant based food product brands, Deliciously Ella, continues to expand its range, with six new soups and sauces. The three new sauces are Smoky paprika roasted red pepper, Miso ginger and yellow Thai curry. The soups are available in three recipes: Super Greens with fresh greens, cannellini beans and garlic, Curried Cauliflower with creamy coconut, red lentils and sweet apricots and Smoky Sweetcorn with sweet potato, red peppers and chilli.
4.Tideford Organics Superfood soups
Tideford Organics has been making award-winning organic soups and sauces in Devon for nearly 25 years and in 2016 they became fully vegan. Newly released is a range of four ‘Superfood’ soups. Energising Red Lentil, Apricot + Chilli, Revitalising Sweet Potato, Lentil + Quinoa, Soothing Tomato + Basil with Red Pepper and Immunity Build Supergreens.
5.SHORE seaweed chips
Based in Wick, a remote community in the far North East of Scotland, Shore creates edible seaweed products that are 100% sustainable. They hand harvest seaweed all year round for their range of chips, clusters, pestos and tapenades, all full of nutrients, including iodine, antioxidants and prebiotic fibre. New last year were remarkably tasty seaweed chips in three flavors: sea salt, sweet chilli and peking.
6.Bio & Me gut-loving Porridge and Granola
Dr Megan Rossi, aka the “The Gut Health Doctor” says that despite granola being most people’s healthy breakfast choice, the reality is that not all granolas are healthy. Using ingredients high in plant based protein, low carb, zero sugar, vegan, gluten free, keto, this brilliant new breakfast range includes four options: Cocoa, Frosted, Cinnamon and Peanut.
8.The Great British Porridge Co.’s porridge pots
The Great British Porridge Co has launched a new flavor (apple and cinnamon) and introduced completely recyclable packaging. Their popular portable pots are available in Classic Chocolate, Blueberry Banana and Caffè Latte. The instant porridges are made using British wholegrain oats, dairy free, plant based and have no added sugar, making them a healthy breakfast choice. For instant porridge, they’re surprisingly palatable.
The innovative new snack brand, Soul Fruit, has launched healthy vegan Dragon Fruit snacks in January 2022. The newest super fruit, Dragon Fruit, has healthy omega 3s and 6s and as well as immune-boosting vitamins. Soul Fruit snacks have no added sugar, are vegan and gluten free. Dragon Fruit snacks come in chipped and soft dried versions; both are delicious and will stop you reaching for that unhealthy chocolate bar.
10.Human Food nutrition bars
