The best ski hotels in Sölden, from five-star to family-run

Advice

Most of Sölden’s accommodation is in comfortable hotels, which are predominantly four-star. At the less expensive end of the scale there are also traditional Austrian pensions and some apartments to rent.

The two access gondolas, Giggijoch and Gaislachkogl, are at opposite ends of the village, leading to opposite sides of the ski area, but there are regular ski buses running around town and accommodation is never too far from a bus stop. Nonetheless, it’s important to check the position of accommodation – while being in the thick of the lively and noisy nightlife might be convenient for partying, in the interests of a good night’s sleep, being a few streets away is better.

The alternative for a quieter time away from the nightlife – and first dibs on fresh snow – is to stay right on the slopes in the hamlet of Hochsölden, which is set around 700m higher than Sölden at over 2,000m in the Giggijoch sector. There are hotel bars and shops here for after hours entertainment but buses and taxis put Sölden well within reach for a night out.

Hotel Sölderhof

The conveniently located three-star Sölderhof is 300m from the Giggijoch gondola, close to the resort centre. As well as a wellness centre on site, there is complimentary use of a nearby swimming pool. For families, or groups on a budget, the Sölderhof’s sister hotel, Resident Tamara, is 100m away and offers suites sleeping up to four people.
