Scandinavian Mountains is the world’s first airport to be operated from the off using a virtual – rather than an actual – air traffic control tower. This is a bit like VAR in football and, depending on your perspective, is either terribly modern or wholly terrifying. Still, flights are landing as of today, and the good news is that one of them is a direct service from the UK. From Heathrow to be exact, offered by Scandinavian Airlines (FlySas.com). Return tickets for a Jan 18-25 trip come to a figure of £304 per person.
