Nasi Goreng Kambing Kebon Sirih is a legendary Jakarta street food stall that serves nasi goreng kambing (goat fried rice) in a huge way! Although some say that their fame has made them not as good as they previously were, I still think it’s an amazing place with an action packed street food atmosphere that you need to try when you’re in Jakarta.

I watched them making this Indonesian street food specialty and rather than normal fried rice with is dry fried in a wok, this is actually almost more like a biryani. The meat is cooked in a curry like sauce, before a huge amount of rice is added.

The rice was very fragrant with lots of cinnamon and spices added. The meat, some of it was quite tender, while other pieces were a little grizzly, but had wonderful meaty flavor.

When you’re in Jakarta and looking for a legendary Indonesian street food stall, Nasi Goreng Kambing Kebon Sirih is a great place to go for nasi goreng kambing (goat fried rice).
